International Women's Day | Screening of Laura Mulvey's 'Riddles of the Sphinx'

 In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8th,  Amsterdam University Press (AUP) is delighted to be associated to Studio K’s event “Meer Dan Muze - "The Female Gaze", an evening about visual pleasure, contemporary feminisms and visual culture. 

Studio K will screen Laura Mulvey's Riddles Of The Sphinx, which will be introduced by three feminist speakers:
·  Dr. Anna Backman Rogers (University of Gotheborg), who will talk about the book she co-edited with Laura, Feminisms, published by AUP.
·  Jeanette Bisschops - assistant curator at Stedelijk Museum will do a short presentation about social media artists in 21st-century patriarchy.
·  Jennifer Lyon Bell, filmmaker and founder of Blue Artichoke film - artistic, unusual erotic films that portray sexuality in an emotionally realistic way.
